Chemistry in the Cloud™ – The World’s First App To Project Manage Drug Discovery

The quest to positively benefit the lives of patients in the world of drug discovery means finding novel therapeutics for unmet medical needs. The biotech and pharma companies have been increasingly resorting to external innovation to supplement their pipeline of ideas and turbocharge their research-based businesses with enterprising partners with complementary ideas, capabilities and services. It is therefore hardly surprising that the top medicinal chemists working in both large and small companies have multiple partners across different continents and time-zones.

To deliver these iterative discovery projects often entails detailed co-ordination of inter-related activities and extensive multi-tasking. Project management is the hub that allows these complex matrices of networks to communicate and for the project to successfully advance. In today’s fast paced and technologically advanced digital world, providing the project manager the right tools to make informed decisions is key to successful delivery.

o2h Discovery’s innovative app Chemistry in the Cloud TM builds upon the latest advances in secure cloud-based mobile technology and integrates project management of external drug discovery programs. The app enables communication between the various scientific stakeholders essential to successful project advancement leading to faster decision making. It negates the onerous tasks of weeding out critical information that is required to take a complex decision by extracting the information from large data intensive reports and databases. These crucial decision points are now just a ‘tap/swipe-of-the-finger’ in the Chemistry in the CloudTM app so that they can speedily execute tasks anytime, anywhere. The communication covering a gamut of research activities in relation to process of research now truly happens in 24/7 real-time.

o2h announced a worldwide launch and first live demonstration of our revolutionary project management app – Chemistry in the Cloud TM on 10th September 2017 at the 19th RSC/SCI Cambridge medicinal chemistry conference to some of world’s top scientists. The app’s full suite of project management tools is available exclusively to live project collaborators and a lighter version is open for researchers looking for a quote for the synthesis of small molecules.

o2h volunteers visit “Jeevan Dhara” – Old age home, Ahmedabad, India.

As a part of our community service seven of the o2h team went to “Jeevan Dhara” – an Old People’s home based in Ahmedabad last Saturday.  The old people’s home does not take a fee but expects the residents to contribute to the running of the home.

The days was highly enjoyable and fulfilling for both the o2h volunteers and the elderly; “happy and delighted” was the most commonly used phrase in the day!

The o2h team reached “Jeevan Dhara Old Age Home” at around 10:30am. The visit started with visiting the Ashram with the staff. After the orientation and induction the team visited to the eye care hospital, rooms donated by people, religious library, etc.

The team then spent time with the elderly chatting and gossiping, many remember the o2h team from the earlier visits and were happy to see the familiar faces. Learning about the life stories, children and grandchildren was very enjoyable. There were also many valuable life lessons which the team appreciated. The eldely residents really enjoyed taking pictures with the team members, seemed to be a favourite hobby for many of them. o2h volunteers served food in the canteen at lunch-time before it was time to wave goodbye with a future visit date agreed.

Experience of Volunteers…

“It was a nice experience. The facilities provided were very good. A much needed service, one lady was awaiting admission as she was sent out of her home by her children and was & pleading for shelter.”

“It was awesome experience. When we met them they were feeling very happy & ultimately due to which we also felt good & happy. The activities which the Oldage home is conducting & the way they are managing is really appreciable. A great feeling came from my heart when we served them food, they were excited to as such what is in lunch. I served them fulvadi for which some where happy to have & some confused between whether to eat or not because of the problem in their teeth. There are lots of feelings but those can only be felt & not expressed in words.”

“It was indeed a very nice experience to visit old age home. It feels very bad that at the age of above 60 they have to live without their children when they needed them the most. We should not forget that at our childhood they have sacrificed a lot to see their child in a good position in future. We shared some quality time with these old age people and they have shared their personal experiences which can be beneficial to our life.”

“It was really a good experience of my life. I was very emotional that time when we met the lady over there & she shared her feelings with us. It is very true that our generation needs to change the things. It was best moment in my life. We will also start to campaign with friends to meet this type of people and listen to their voice and feelings.”

“I had a great time there, sitting with them hearing their life stories with amazing experience. They all welcomed us with love. I learnt many things. Thank you o2h for organizing such community services. It was a heart touching experience…!”

“It was a nice experience. We talked with them & realized they were missing their home, their children, grandchildren badly.”
